Advocacy

NCBIWA advocates for funding to protect, restore and maintain North Carolina’s coastline. Making our coast and its beaches more resilient by protecting our natural infrastructure requires funding on both the state and federal levels. Funding for beach renourishment, coastal resilience and shallow draft inlet maintenance are crucial to sustaining our coast and increasing our ability to recover after hazardous events such as hurricanes, coastal storms and flooding. By developing and maintaining strong relationships with our elected officials in both Raleigh and Washington D.C., NCBIWA is able to advance its legislative agenda.
